One of my favourite things in the world, listening to the birds in the morning.

It's amazing that we take so much of the miracle of being alive and healthy for granted! The loss of identity was a big one for me.

I always saw myself as a rebel and though not drinking made me boring but now I realise it is way more rebellious NOT to drink in this society. xxxxHurrah for Coffeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17569557513281365587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5496458200245645063.post-62575455191839532242016-11-25T21:54:13.408-08:002016-11-25T21:54:13.408-08:00Hello Wendy

Tui are native to New Zealand and are the most incredible song birds. Your post about hearing lost made me cry...Hi Wendy! Your post about hearing lost made me cry when I read it a while back. The loss is real, and painful. I'm glad you now feel you've gained so much from your cochlear implants. Not hearing people talk would indeed be isolating. And hearing the birds is joyous! For me, quitting drinking was a big loss, too, and it was hard to bear. Now I'm very glad to have done that. But I always have rejected the point of view that says, "you are not losing anything." I lost a pleasure , a solace, and a welcome companion, but I regained the world, and that's been so very worth it. I'm glad you can write about this so clearly, and I'm glad you're doing so well. Big hug to you! xoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08288935120774241198noreply@blogger.com
